When Jesus was on earth, he had a small group of people (disciples) that he taught regularly not just on Sunday.  Connect Groups are one of the major ways the church is really the  church.  Sunday morning worship Gatherings are not all that church is about.  If the church is the people and not a building, then church ought to be about connecting with each other so we can better connect with God.  We believe that we fall short of what God requires of us, if all we do is the Sunday morning worship thing.  So we expect all our members (but you don’t have to be a member to attend)to be part of  a  Connect Group  in order to optimize spiritual growth.
